Today Barrett shared his message with several different classes of agriculture education students in Lake Butler, Florida. It was quite magical to hear him share the passion of his heart for orphaned and abandoned children as well as his passion for students to be ignited with passion for something other than themselves. He used this quote today during his message and after hearing it I can't help but meditate on it myself.

"This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy." George Bernard Shaw

True joy in life comes from living each day in the purpose that God has set us upon this earth. We are mighty ones; put here to wear ourselves out with serving others as Christ served us. God wants to use us as a force of nature if we can get over ourselves and realize it's not about us. We're not put here on earth simply to be happy and have fun, but we do all that and more when we give of ourselves in that unique purpose that brings joy.

This is something I really need to meditate on. What great passion has the Lord put on my heart that I should be wearing myself out giving my energy to? Any I fulfilling this call?

Today was soooo much fun hanging out in a high school ag building. So much fun going to check the pigs on the school farm and watching students parade them around getting some exercise. Although Barrett did not hit the streets walking today we were able to get in about 7 miles after school on the track with a great group of students and friends. There are so many people interested and supporting this cause. It is simply beautiful.

  1. I'm officially jealous. Why didn't OUR high school ag program include livestock?? I'm so proud of you for taking part in this adventure, Panda! I'm sure Barrett is thankful for your company and support.
